T-shirt with dragon pattern

  • A round insignia with embroidery of a dragon was attached to the chest, back, and shoulders of clothes for royal families during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) in Korea. The dragon is a legendary creature that symbolize power, strength, and a king. The status of a wearer’s rank was identified by the different number of claws depicted on the insignia. A Dragon with five claws for a king and queen and a dragon with four claws was for the crown prince and crown princess.
